Joaquín Sabina offered his last concert in Mexico, as part of his farewell tour 'Hello and Goodbye'. In this show, the Spanish singer-songwriter performed iconic songs such as 'The Boulevard of Broken Dreams', 'Wedding Nights', and 'And They Gave Us 10', among others. The evening was filled with nostalgia, being this concert the closing of a musical career of more than 46 years.
The performance, which took place on Wednesday, February 12 at the National Auditorium, coincided with Sabina's 76th birthday. The audience enjoyed his most famous songs, as well as his reflections on life and the recent moments that have marked his journey. In an emotional gesture, a video of his most recent single, 'A Last Waltz', was projected, where he revisits significant moments of his career.
In a concert full of past and present hits, Sabina remembered artists who have been fundamental in his life, such as Joan Manuel Serrat, Leiva, Calamaro, and Mara Barros. The audience not only enjoyed his classics like 'Who Stole April from Me?' and 'More than a Hundred Lies', but also immersed themselves in the emotion of more recent songs like 'Tears of Marble' and 'I Deny Everything'.
During the show, Sabina was surprised by the Sabinera Community, who organized an emotional celebration for his birthday. Among the most highlighted moments was the appearance of a mariachi band on stage, performing 'Las Mañanitas' and 'They Gave Us 10'. With the affection of the public and applause echoing in the venue, the singer-songwriter said goodbye, visibly moved, leaving an indelible mark on his Mexican followers.
With this last performance in Mexican lands, Joaquín Sabina closes an important chapter in his career, not before leaving the door open for future reunions with his audience: 'We said goodbye, hopefully we will see each other again (hopefully)' were his final words on stage, marking the end of a musical era but leaving the promise of a possible return.
